The pen keeps the individual line controlled. The image grows through repetition, spacing, overlap, and changes in density across the sheet.
Black ink on white paper
Most works in the series use Pelikan Fount India black ink on Fabriano 250 gsm white paper.
Where lines pass close together or cross, the drawing becomes darker. Wider spacing leaves more of the paper open.
White ink on black paper
Curves of Her No. 06 reverses the usual relationship. It uses Rotring white ink on Fabriano 300 gsm black paper.
The same plotted approach remains, but the line appears as light against a dark surface.
What the plotter controls
The plotter follows the prepared path at a set height and speed. Arcos chooses the composition, paper, ink, scale, and which finished works are released.
Small differences in ink flow and the paper surface remain visible in the final drawing.
